Partners in Community Inclusion (PiCi) is an ongoing facilitated parent group model for families who have young children and transition age youth with developmental disabilities.

Through a process of duscussion, study and discovery sessions, participants develop skills and strategies that:

  • support their long-range inclusion vision for their child
  • enhance their partnerships and alliances with schools, service providers, regional center, and community

PiCi is a series of consecutive, hands-on, collaborative meetings where parents work and learn side-by-side with other parents and a facilitator. Each parent develops their own inclusion vision for their child and short term experiences that will enhance community participation and greater involvement in neighborhood activities.

Periodic workshops guide participants on how to create their own personal inclusion vision, correlate IEP and IPP goals and develop effective communication skills that enhance team partnerships and encourage new relationships in the community.
