What We Believe
Philosophy and Principles

Our services and practices are based on a very simple set of beliefs.  We believe every person has the ability to determine their own quality of life, become participating community members and have the ability to change and grow as they choose.

We believe:
People with developmental disabilities are capable of independence, being productive, and included in all facets of community life.  Some may need support for individualized assistance;

People with developmental disabilities and their families have capabilities and goals.  We acknowledge, support and encourage their reaching those goals;

People with developmental disabilities and their families are the rightful primary decision makers about the services and supports they receive, and programs and services that affect their lives;

All our services and supports are provided in a respectful and dignified way that honors each person’s preferences and cultural differences;

People with developmental disabilities should have access to the supports needed to be fully included in community life, have fulfilling relationships, live in home settings, have jobs or careers, and have opportunities to make contributions to their communities.
