The SCILS Group, a nonprofit consulting organization, was created
in 1992 to serve communities with personalized inclusion thinking,
strategies and training that guide people to become contributing
members of their community. Mark Starford, the founder has been
a systems change facilitator, inclusive school educator, trainer
and nonprofit organization leader for over 30 years. Mark is also
known for his work to adapt difficult concepts into accessible
pictorial materials.
The SCILS Group is committed to ensuring person centered full inclusion
and systems change and offers a wide variety of services to agencies,
families and adults. Some of the services offered include
group process and facilitation, coaching and training for families
and strategic intervention with agencies and community organizations.
Outcomes are the cornerstone of our group’s work. Our
coaching, training and project development for service organizations
and agencies model characteristics that build capacity and inter-agency
coalitions. Through exploration and inquiry, planning and a team
development process challenges that prevent mission accomplishment
can be successfully navigated and overcome. In addition, we help
identify and initiate new and emerging practices for adults and
families that encourage use of natural communities and utilize
personal designed supports to accomplish individual goals.
